There’s something grounding about a really good cup of coffee made the right way.
This week’s recipe is simple, clean, and surprisingly elevated. We’re making a Salted Maple Latte using organic maple syrup in a glass bottle, a pinch of mineral-rich Colima sea salt, and a fresh espresso shot pulled directly over the top so the salt melts into the sweetness. It’s rich, balanced, and free from artificial syrups and questionable additives.
If you’re going to drink coffee daily, make it count.
Life Boost Salted Maple Latte
A simple, mineral-rich upgrade to your daily coffee ritual
Most flavored coffee drinks rely on artificial syrups, refined sugars, and seed-oil-based creamers. This version keeps things clean, simple, and deeply satisfying.
The magic of this recipe is in the layering. Organic maple syrup provides trace minerals and a deep caramel-like sweetness. A pinch of Colima sea salt enhances the flavor while adding natural sodium and trace elements. Pulling the espresso shot directly over the syrup and salt allows the heat to dissolve everything evenly, creating a smooth, balanced base before adding milk.
It takes less than five minutes and tastes like something you’d pay $7 for.
Ingredients
- 1 double shot Life Boost organic coffee espresso
- 1 tablespoon organic maple syrup (glass-bottled preferred)
- Pinch of Colima sea salt
- ½ to ¾ cup steamed milk of choice (raw dairy, grass-fed whole milk, or clean alternative)
Instructions
- Add the maple syrup and a small pinch of Colima sea salt to your mug.
- Pull your espresso shot directly into the mug over the syrup and salt. This allows the heat to fully dissolve the salt and blend the flavors.
- Stir gently until fully combined.
- Steam your milk and pour it into the espresso mixture.
- Optional: Lightly froth the top and add a tiny additional pinch of salt if you enjoy a stronger salted finish.
Why Add Salt?
Salt reduces bitterness and enhances sweetness naturally. High-quality mineral salts like Colima contain trace elements that give depth to flavor while supporting hydration. When combined with maple syrup and espresso, it creates a smooth, slightly caramelized profile without the need for artificial flavorings.
Non-Toxic Coffee Tips
- Choose mold-tested, organic coffee whenever possible.
- Avoid plastic pod systems that expose hot liquid to plastic.
- Store maple syrup in glass.
- Skip commercial flavored syrups, which often contain artificial colors and preservatives.
